Welcome to Railwalks. We are here to share and promote scenic walks from railway stations across the UK. We believe that travelling by rail to enjoy a walk is a stress-free, environmentally sustainable way to escape into the countryside! On our site, you can:

    • Browse our walk maps. Use the Walks Maps (PC and iPad users here, mobile users here) to find a walk in your area. Click on a Railwalks pin on the map to get to an overview of the walk, where you will find useful information and a link to mapping/directions. Some of our links are for walks already available on third party websites, and some for walks hosted on our own site.

    • Search our walk database. Use the Walk Search facility using keywords such as county, station, length of walk and gradient.

    • Submit a walk to us. Railwalks was designed with collaboration and contribution in mind. If you have a walk from the train that you would like to share with us, whether of your own creation or from another website, we’d love to hear from you. Just use our submission page.

If you have any questions about who we are or what we do, check out the FAQ page which should give you everything you need, or get in touch. We would also recommend you take a look at our Railwalking Advice and Ticket Tips to enjoy a safe and enjoyable walk whilst keeping your bank balance as healthy as you.

See you on the train!
